Chapter 4 Emily finished dressing up by finally getting the clasp on her pearl bracelet. She got into her car and drove to Kelly's where she was suppose to meet with Liz for a girl's night out. She was wearing a long pale pink dress that had wide straps and a long slit up the side. She had her hair piled on top her hair with a few curls and straight strand of hair hanging loose. She started to get a little suspicious when she saw the lights off in Kelly's. She entered the place to see that there was a lit candle on each table and a few candles on the counter by the cash register. Emily jumped a little when the door shut but laughed and turned back around with a slight frown, “Elizabeth! I made it!” She sat down setting down in a stool by the counter resting her purse in her lap. She was still observing her surroundings curiously. She stood up putting her purse on the counter and pacing the floor. "Emily!” Liz said a little surprised with a nervous smile, “You're here. Finally." "I know I took awhile. I'm sorry. It was just weird getting a call from you so late in the day and I wasn't sure where we going so it took me a while to get dressed. Sorry, am I really late?” Emily asked. Liz took a moment to respond but she shook her head, “No, Em. You're right on time." Emily knew just by Liz's look and perky voice something was up, “Ok, Elizabeth, I want to know what's going on right now.” She demanded crossing her arms angrily. Meanwhile behind Kelly's… "Would you just stop asking questions?!” Lucky shouted with a laugh and slick smile. "No, Lucky, we're brothers and all but in case you haven't noticed… I don't trust you! At least not right now. I can tell something's up! Why are we here? I thought we were going out but instead we're entering the back way of Kelly's and you're acting really… sneaky.” Nikolas responded as they entered the back entry into Kelly's. Lucky closed the door and it locked automatically. "Nikolas, I am telling you right now I am not telling you anything for you're own benefit.” Lucky teased. "I knew it! What is it?! I bet you this wasn't even you're idea was it! Some outside source like you're matchmaker fiancée'! I swear, Lucky, if Emily is out there I am going to seriously hurt you!” Nikolas stated madly storming out from the kitchen into the main part of the restaurant. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Emily with her back to him as she continued to question Liz. "What exactly is going on? I thought we we're going out why the heck are we still here?” Emily saw Liz's look over her shoulder and turned around to see Nikolas and Lucky behind the counter. Emily's heart sank, “I don't believe this! Elizabeth!” She yelled turning around to Liz, “You set me up!" "I had to, Emily! You and Nikolas are made for each other and I will keep finding ways for you guys to talk and be together until you figure that out! Emily, you're my best friend I did this all for a reason!” Elizabeth placed her face in her hands and Lucky ran to her. Emily felt terrible for making her cry. She had to vent her anger somehow though so she turned to Nikolas, “I suppose you had nothing to do with this right?!" "No, I didn't! I thought we were going to go out. Lucky and me! That's all!” Nikolas replied. Liz and Lucky watched as they continued to argue heatedly. Nikolas and Emily both needed a reason to hate each other and this plan wasn't helping yet but Liz had expected as much. Lucky leaned over to whisper in her ear, “Elizabeth, are you sure this is a good idea? They look like their going to kill each other." Liz smiled and continued to watch Emily and Nikolas while speaking softly back to Lucky, “Everything's going as expected. The back door is locked and now that this lock in the front is changed there is no way their going to be able to get out without the key that I am going to use to lock them in. Tomorrow morning we'll come back and hopefully… things will be back to normal. Me, you, Nikolas, and Emily the fiercium four again. So, let's go.” Liz quickly took Lucky's hand with a small giggle as they ran out the front door. Emily and Nikolas stopped arguing to see Liz locking the door. Emily's eyes widened as she ran to try and open the door, “Elizabeth! What are you doing?!" "I want you two to settle you're differences you hear me! Lucky and I will be back tomorrow!” Liz shouted and laughed slightly as she led a worried Lucky away. "Elizabeth!!!” Emily screamed pounded on the glass, “Come back here! Elizabeth, don't you dare do this to me! I swear I will never talk to you again! Elizabeth!!" "Oh, yeah. That should bring her back.” Nikolas said sarcastically running his hands through his hair as he looked down. "Damn it, Nikolas, she took the key! We can't get out of here! We're stuck! Together! I mean… god! Don't you hate this situation as much as I do?” Emily asked angered by his silence while she tried to bring Elizabeth back. Nikolas went back to check the door and saw how it was also locked. Nikolas went back out to where Emily was and sat down in anguish, “Well, Emily, it looks like we're here for the night." Emily turned to Nikolas feeling incredibly trapped, “There is no way! Liz wouldn't…" Emily pounded a fist against the door, “She would leave me here with you! Ugh!!!” She screamed smacking the door rapidly before turning back to Nikolas to see him clearly admiring what he was seeing, “What are you looking at?” She questioned with an attitude crossing her arms, “Don't get any ideas." "Lord forbid.” Nikolas joked grinning suddenly. "You are so annoying!” She shouted running behind the counter and looking for keys in the most odd and common places she could think of. Nikolas went to sit at a table watching her with a still wide grin. She stomped her feet twice in frustration, “I can't believe she did this to me.” She went to the front door and rested her back against the door, “Why aren't you trying to find a way out?” She questioned Nikolas angrily. Nikolas shrugged, “I don't mind being stuck with you." She didn't know how to respond to his slightly sweet comment. She sat at a table near the door, “Thanks.” She mumbled with a frown. Nikolas rested his hands in his lap, “I suppose we should just get right to it." Emily sighed in confusion resting her face in her hands, “Right to what?" "Elizabeth, clearly wants us to work out our differences.” Nikolas replied. Emily stood up quickly placing her hands on her hips, “I know Elizabeth better than you do and I can tell you right now that what you're saying is completely false." Nikolas stood crossing his arms and stepping before her, “Then why are we here." Emily looked away with a long exhale, “Oh, alright! That's exactly what she wants!" Nikolas laughed at her frustration and innocent argument, “I personally don't think it's such a bad idea. You know? For us to work out our differences? Be friends again. Be close." Emily's angry attitude just emerged more and more as he continued but he could tell in her eyes that she was beginning to soften up to his words, “This is why I left Port Charles.” She stated quickly pushing past him and sitting at the counter. "What?!” Nikolas burst out whirling around to her, “You left so we couldn't straighten things out?!" Emily looked away from him while smiling madly, “No!” She stood, turned to him, and walked to him until she could feel his breath on her face, “I left! Because you think it's so easy! We can NOT just be friends or anything else for that matter just because you're sorry and it was a mistake!! Don't you see?! It's not that easy! I cared about you, Nikolas! And I don't care how freakin' blind you are! You knew I was falling in love with you before you got involved with Katherine! Although that may not be true either considering how much you've lied to me I can't exactly take anything you say seriously. I mean you could have lied to me about how long you two were together. Come to think of it? If I really want to know the truth I should probably just go to Katherine! Not that I would ever go to that… ugh! What did you see in her anyway?” Emily paused waiting for a response but he only stood there continuing to stare at her, “Oh! That's right! Sex! That's what you saw in her! Sex! That's all! You know, Nikolas, there's this little thing that people tend to have before they jump in the sack,” She held her hand in front of his hands holding her fingers centimeters apart, “It's a little thing called love. Although, considering how much times have changed you may not have to worry about that." "You know what, Emily?! We weren't together! It wasn't like I was cheating! We have never been together like that and I honestly thought that you understood we were just friends!” Nikolas snapped. "You're right, Nikolas! We were never together! Which means you can sleep with whoever you want whenever you want! But don't you expect me to give damn anymore! I won't ever feel that insecure again! And guess what, Nikolas?! I can hate you! It's my choice! Not yours, not Lucky's, and definitely not Elizabeth's! My choice!” Emily looked down and Nikolas felt his heart sink when he noticed a few of her tears fall. She inhaled deeply before looking back at him, “What? You going to tell me how much you've missed me? Good! I'm glad! You sad that you never gave us a chance? Great! That's exactly what I wanted because I intend to make you feel the exact same way you made me feel! And let me tell you something, Prince Nikolas, it isn't fun! As a matter of fact it's living torture! I'm so glad you're finally going to get a taste of your own medicine!” She shouted before just looking at him intensely while her eyes continued to fill with tears. Nikolas never wanted anyone as much as he wanted Emily right at that moment and before they knew what was even happening they were drowning into a passionate kiss.
