Chapter 1 This takes place in the year 2008. Emily left Port Charles and lives in Florida as a international model. Her career has taken her to everywhere in the world and she has kept in very close touch with Elizabeth. Lucky and Nikolas have maintained their brother friendship as is. They really haven't got a lot closer but they haven't grown apart. Lucky misses his "sister” Emily but keeps in touch with her as often as possible. Nikolas and Katherine separated after their secret came out and Emily hasn't spoken to either of them since then. She avoided them until she finally couldn't take it anymore and left. But now everyone is coming back for Elizabeth Webber and Lucky Spencer's Wedding. The event of the year is bringing everyone back… even those who weren't invited. Emily let out a long sigh as she ran her right hand through her hair and shifted her backpack on her shoulder. She took out her compact to check her hair and make up one last time. She looked down at her attempt to look not like such a model. She had on black jeans, a navy blue long sleeved lace material shirt, and a black leather jacket. A wide smile spread across her face as she raised her fist and knocked on the door. She had been away for two years now. Slowly the door opened and she let out a squeal as she saw Liz's surprised face, “Hey!” She exclaimed as Liz jumped into a hug with her. Emily laughed slightly feeling like now that she had seen Liz she had seen her family. Liz rocked slightly, “It's you! I can't believe your here!" Emily pulled a with her still ear to ear smile, “Wow, you look great.” Emily said observing her friend and her mouth dropped when she saw the rock on Liz's finger, “Oh my god." Liz giggled and lifted up her hand to Emily's face to get a closer look, “Isn't it wonderful?" "Lucky was definitely prepared.” Emily praised. "Well, come in! You look so exhausted.” Liz guided Emily inside to her apartment. Emily looked around with an approving nod, “It's nice." "Yea, it's so great to have a place of my own but it's not really home without… my Lucky.” Liz said with a huge grin. "Your Lucky? And to think at one time I thought he was my Lucky.” Emily teased. "Nah, he's always been my Lucky. You were just mistaken.” Liz joked back and sat with Emily on the couch. "God,” Emily whispered shaking her head, “Married. You and Lucky are going to be married! Aren't you like… scared to death?" "No! I'm anxious!” Liz whined in anguish, “I can't wait to be Mrs. Elizabeth Spencer-Webber or is it Mrs. Elizabeth Webber-Spencer?" "I think it sounds perfect either way.” Liz nodded with a blush, “I'm so happy for you and Lucky. You’re so great together." Liz inhaled deeply, “I can't imagine loving anyone but Lucky and when he proposed I wanted to…" Liz and Emily laughed knowing she'd say something ridiculous, “Jump for joy.” Liz looked at Emily admiring everything and felt a little guilty for bragging, “Ok, enough about my perfect relationship. What about you? How are you?" Emily shrugged and looked down at her creatively colored fingernails, “I'm fine. Busy." "Busy? Like to busy for any dates? Or too busy for anything?” Liz questioned with an amused look. Emily chuckled nervously, “You see! I told you I should stop calling so much! You know me too well.” Emily saw Liz's still curious face, “There's no one, Liz. I haven't dated or seen anyone since I left,” She saw Liz's nagging face assume, “But I haven't wanted to either. I'm doing fine by myself." "Are you sure?" Emily let out a angry laugh, “Yes! Now, stop quizzing me!” Liz rolled her eyes at Emily's comment and Emily prayed for a way out. Then there was a knock at the door. Liz stood and hurried to the door looking back at Emily as she opened the door. Emily peered out to see who it was, “Hello, Beautiful!” Lucky greeted and grabbed Liz kissing her passionately and not noticing Emily. They pulled away after a very awkward moment for Emily. Lucky handed Liz a rose before looking to see Emily. Liz nervously gestured to her and Lucky gasped, “Emily!” Lucky hurried to her embracing her with shock, “Your back." Emily closed her eyes holding her best friend with an overwhelmed feeling, “Hiya, Lucky." "I missed you so much.” Lucky spoke softly and pulled away looking at her, “You look good." Liz playfully hit Lucky's shoulder as she came over to them, “You watch those eyes, Mr. Spencer." Lucky wrapped an arm around Liz's waist, “I only have eyes for you, dear." Liz giggled, “Good answer.” Before they kissed again. Emily cleared her throat and they stopped, “We're sorry, Em.” They apologized. Lucky slipped his fingers between Liz's as he let go of her waist, “I just couldn't resist my… fiancée'." "No problem.” Emily excused him and picked her bag back up, “I gotta split anyway." "What?! You just got here!” Liz said sadly and angrily, “You are not leaving!" Emily smiled sarcastically, “I'm not skipping town! I just have to check into the Port Charles Hotel. I'll be back later.” Liz gave her a disappointed look, “I promise, Liz! And then we'll discuss whatever you want." "Which would be talking about me behind my back.” Lucky chimed in. Liz hugged him tightly, “It's all good. Don't worry." Emily shook her head quickly, “No, it's not! It's all horrible.” Emily whispered knowing it was loud enough for Liz to hear. "I heard that!” Liz snapped pulling away from Lucky. "I'll see you lovebirds later.” Emily stated before walking out leaving them together. She left knowing that her closet friends were the happiest they had ever been. After checking into the hotel and dodging some reporters Emily finally had a moment to herself. She had wondered off and went to all the places she, Nikolas, Lucky, and Liz use to go to. They were great as the small group who could handle anything but then Emily found out about Katherine and Nikolas. But the worse part was that it came out when Luke Spencer told everyone. She felt betrayed and destroyed by the news but she never spoke with Nikolas about anything since. Not even when she heard that he had found out about Stefan Cassadine being his natural father. Emily got so lost in her thoughts that she was at the docks and didn't even know it. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she saw her reflection in the water. She looked up and gazed out at Spoon Island wondering what had happened to everyone? Especially Nikolas. She shrugged realizing maybe it was ok if she didn't care and began to walk away. She was about to disappear when she heard a familiar voice call out, “Emily?” She spun around and there he was. Nikolas Cassadine in all his glory. Instead of wanting to grab him fiercely and never let go she wanted to deck him, “What?” Emily asked crossing her arms. Nikolas ignored her attitude and smiled widely, “I can't believe it's you.” To her COMPLETE surprise, he walked up to her quickly and hugged her like there was no tomorrow. She wasn't sure how to react she managed to pat his back a couple times but that was all. Her arms fell to her sides out of shock, “I missed you so much.” He whispered and Emily's eyes widened. "You did?” Emily said squeaking in mid sentence. She pulled away and laughed nervously, “Good.” She told him with a fake grin. She didn't want to be too cold to him but she didn't want him to think they were close again. Nikolas looked at her and she could tell he was surprised how much she had changed, 'So much for little sister.' Emily thought letting out a slight giggle at his look. But what she hated was that when ever his eyes set on her she still felt nervous. Every time she saw him no matter how much she told herself to hate him it wasn't possible. She'd always love him and wish he loved her. “It's just so great to see you again, Emily.” Nikolas stated snapping her out her thoughts. Emily shrugged, “Wish I could say the feeling was mutual." Nikolas hung his head down with a slight nod, “Still hate me, huh?" Emily shook her head, “I never said I hated you, Nikolas. You did. I wouldn't say I hated you but if you want to… go on ahead.” Emily felt all her angry feelings replacing any sort of compassionate feelings. "Emily, you haven't talk to me in over nine years! I'm guessing hate is a good word.” Nikolas finally spoke out against her sick of waiting for her to get over it. "Bite me, Nikolas.” Emily snapped before trying to walk away. Nikolas stopped, “Emily, I'm sorry for yelling at you. It's just… I miss you, ok?" Emily was falling victim to his sincere eyes and she could feel it, “Nikolas, I'm sorry you missed me but I can't stay here and talk to you. If I do we're just going to argue and I'm going to,” Emily paused trying to think of another word besides hate, “Despise you more. So please,” Emily pleaded, “Let me leave.” She looked away and Nikolas noticed her tears, “I don't think my heart can handle anymore of you.” Emily's words made Nikolas see how much he had really hurt her. He understood it more than ever before and he was shocked. He let go off her and she looked at him once more wiping away her tears, “Goodbye, Nikolas.” Emily concluded before hurrying around the corner. She pressed her back and head against the wall. Seeing Nikolas had only made her realize how much it still hurt her. The whole situation. She felt her aching for just a touch of Nikolas' skin and she burst into tears sinking to the ground. Nikolas stood in place wondering how in the world he could fix things between him and her. No matter what he knew he'd have to find a solution for both of them.
