Chapter 2 The boy stepped out of the limo with his father exiting on the other side. He left out a small sigh of anger and resentment as he ran a hair through his thick brown hair and continued to observe his small surroundings. His father stepped from behind him and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, “What do you think?" "Papa, this is horrible.” The boy whined with his very obvious Latin accent, “I hate it.” He crossed his arms and huffed. His father groaned slightly stepping in front of him, “My son, there are endless possibilities here and I just want you to have a normal life here. In Spain everyone knows who you are no one sees you as a normal teenage boy and you should have that. If you choose that life when you're older that's ok but for now you will be normal." "I am not normal, Papa! I am far from normal! I am your son! I am Emilio the one son of the great Juan Lopez! And I've been raised to be proud of that! Why can't we just go home?” He argued as they entered their new home. "My legacy is yours, Emilio, but for now you deserve to be a teen. You are too young to be too popular to leave the house. Here!” He entered the front room and pointed out the window, “In Port Charles you are a normal teenage boy who is going to attend high school and going to lead a normal life." "I don't like it here! I won't like it here! And I just want to go home!” He stated stomping a foot. "This is for your own good, Emilio. You are going to have a normal life even if I have to force you.” Juan told his son angrily and annoyed by his son's attitude. Emilio saw how much he was upsetting his father and had to get out, “Fine! I will begin my normal life tonight then!” He began to walk back out of the house. Juan's face lit up slightly as he went to the hall where his son was, “Where are you going?" Emilio shrugged, “To see what Port Charles has to offer.” He through his coat over his wrist and exited the mansion. Emily sat at a table inside of Kelly's idly tapping the table with her fingertips on the table. Lucky stared at her with a slight smile as Emily rested her other hand under her chin and continued to gaze around the fairly busy room, “Emily?" Emily snapped out of her trance and looked at him, “What?" "Are you ok?” Lucky asked with a still amused but worried look. "Oh yeah, I'm fine.” She answered glumly and sighed, “Why?" "Because you haven't touched you're soda and you've been a million miles away all night.” Lucky responded turning his full attention to her. Emily laughed and blushed a little, “It's that obvious?" "Yep.” Lucky joked and took a sip of his root beer. Emily ran her finger along the rim of her cup twirling her straw along, “Lucky, can I ask you a question?" Lucky nodded and put his drink back down, “Of course." Emily rolled her eyes a little nervous about asking her question, “Do you…" Lucky waited for her to continued but all she did was exhale shyly, “Do I what?" Emily bit her lower lip for a moment, “Do you promise not to laugh?" Lucky crossed his heart, “I promise." Emily smiled widely, “Ok… do you think it's possible for someone to… be in love with someone before they even get involved with someone? And do you think it's possible even when the other person feels nowhere near as much for you?” Her smile faded by the time she had finished and her glum expression had returned, “Forget it. It was stupid to ask." "No. No, it's wasn't. And yes I do think it's possible on both questions.” Lucky leaned over the table slightly, “Emily, Elizabeth and I were connected before I even knew it. I was in love with her before I had even realized what happened. It is possible. And you can never control who you love,” He paused as Emily smiled to herself looking down shyly, “Even if it's a Cassadine." Emily's eyes widened as she looked up immediately, “You knew?" "Well, it's sort of…" Lucky trailed off not wanting to offend her. "Obvious.” Emily moaned placing her face in her hands. "That's not a bad thing, Emily. He's an idiot for passing you up.” Lucky said thoughtfully. "Thanks, Lucky.” Emily was glad someone cared enough to say that, “You're lying but thanks." "Emily, I'm not lying.” Lucky signaled for her to come a little closer. Emily leaned over the table a little as he whispered, “If Elizabeth wasn't around you'd definitely be the girl for me." Emily giggled as Elizabeth approached playfully smacking Lucky on the shoulder, “Hey!” She exclaimed at him. Lucky laughed loudly, “Ow!” He yelped leaning back in his chair as Emily sat back. Elizabeth crossed her arms with an angry look, “So? I see you're putting the moves on the model!” She winked at Emily playing Lucky horribly. Emily flashed her a smile, “He's terrible you know that?" Lucky gave Emily an annoyed look as he pulled Elizabeth into his lap by her hips. Emily watched admiring how they interacted together. She turned away knowing she didn't have that and how much she wished she did. She was even less hopeful now that she knew about her Prince Nikolas. She stood quickly bringing her purse over her shoulder and clearing her throat, “Ok, well, I gotta go." "You don't have to leave, Emily. We didn't mean to…" Lucky knew this wasn't helping Emily. Emily faked a smile, “Don't worry, Lucky.” She went over to him and kissed his cheek, “I know.” Emily looked at them faking a happy mood as she exited. Liz wrapped her arms around Lucky's neck, “Will she be ok?" Lucky nodded, “She just needs some time. That's all.” Liz and Lucky carried on as Emily exited. Emilio walked around for hours and hours seeing various teenage hangouts and not finding himself to interested. He walked to some place that looked sort of like a restaurant he remembered at home. He looked up at the sign and read it aloud, “Kelly's.” He shrugged slightly approaching. As he went to open the door someone rushed out bumping right into him. "Oh, I'm sorry.” The girl quickly apologized. Emilio smiled a little annoyed still not seeing her face as she looked down, “It's ok.” He stated angrily but figuring it was a great way to welcome him to Port Charles. She looked up with a smile, “I really am sorry. I am so clumsy. Really I apologize." Emilio was going to explode on the girl until he saw her face. He was a little speechless as he observed the girl from head to toe. He had never been so impressed with a girl just by her looks, “It was my fault.” He choked staring into the girls beautiful brown eyes. "Your fault? I rammed into you.” She laughed and looked at him just as closely, “Are you new around here?” She asked remembering his accent and seeing his foreign look. Emilio smiled nervously, “Yes. Yes, I am." "Wow, new to Port Charles. That can be tough.” She sympathized sticking her hand out, “My name's Emily Quartermaine." "Emilio Lopez.” He introduced himself shaking her hand back. She let out a small giggled when he held her hands still shaking it after a moment of staring. Emily was fully blown away by his deep brown eyes and brown hair. His skin was a lightly tanned color that matched his whole look perfectly. But the one thing that seemed to make him stand out from other guys was his outfit. He was wearing a suit when he wasn't a businessman or even on a date. He reminded her a lot of Nikolas but was definitely standing out in different ways. Emilio was equally admiring her. Emily wore a fuzzy lilac sweater and dark blue jeans that framed her well. Her shirt freely exposed her stomach and her silver cross around her neck. After a moment of flashing each other nervous smiles, “Are you going to be attending high school?" "Actually, yes, I am.” He answered with a wide grin. "Great, I'll see you then.” She lifted her sweater sleeve, “I have gotta get home. See ya around, Emilio.” She waved happily walking away and trying not to blush knowing Emilio was watching her walk away. Emilio placed his hand on his chest trying to keep it from leaping out of his chest. He looked up at the sky and whispered, “Thank you."
