Chapter 1 Liz, Lucky, and Nikolas all sat in Lucky's apartment laughing at Lucky's quick pun at something Nikolas had said. After a few moments of pure laughter Nikolas stopped and cleared his throat, “That was a good one, Lucky." "Ah, thanks bro.” Lucky said patting his shoulder and looking at his watch, “That's weird.” Lucky frowned as he observed the time. Nikolas rose a brow, “What's weird?” Lucky let Liz see the time and nodded, “That is weird." "What's weird?” Nikolas repeated in anguish. Liz and Lucky gave each other a puzzled look before Liz replied, “its just Emily said she'd be over today but… I guess she changed her mind or something." Nikolas looked down remember the look Emily had given him when she spotted him with Katherine… again. She had avoided him for over a week now. She must have saw him come up to Lucky's and changed her mind. But they had no idea that Emily's whole life was about to take a dramatic turn… Emily sadly shoved her hands in her pockets as she roller bladed through the park in order to get home. She saw Nikolas enter Lucky's building before her and decided to go away. She was staring at the ground in sadness and staring down. Seeing Nikolas these days did nothing but depress her. She wasn't paying attention to what was in front of her when she crashed into something solid and strong. The collision caused her to bounce back but she managed to somehow remain standing as she looked up to see she had crashed into a person. Slowly her eyes surveyed the person from her feet to her head. The girl in front of her was wearing brown boots under her baggy camouflage green pants, her boxers peaking out of the rim, a tight white tank top that revealed her pierced belly button, and a leather coat. Her hair was jet black and her make was almost as dark. She had a small stud in her left nostril and hoop earrings. She also had a dark green back pack on her shoulder that seemed to be holding her luggage. She glared at Emily while she shouted, “Watch where you're going!” Emily felt like an automatic goody, goody observing the girl and quickly stuttering, “I… I'm sorry. It was a mistake." "Oh, and that makes it alright?!” The girl said dusting off her clothes, “I swear you rich people have no respect." Emily shook her head swallowing hard, “I really didn't mean to bump you, Miss." The girl grinned, “Wow.” She said her eyes softened, “No one's ever called me that before." Emily frowned, “What?” "Miss.” She shrugged, “It's kinda nice. Listen don't worry about the bump in. You're forgiven.” Now it was her turn. She looked at Emily's black roller blades up. Emily wore black jeans, a baby blue long-sleeved top, and a fuzzy white sweater. Her long brown hair pulled into two barrettes on either side of her head and her make-up natural as usual. She smiled looking at Emily, 'I could have fun with her.’ Emily felt herself shiver slightly wondering if this girl would hurt her, “Again. I'm sorry.” She repeated before trying to leave. She slightly skated past the girl but the girl spun around. "Leaving already?” The girl questioned. Emily shyly turned back to her, “I was thinking about it.” She told her sarcastically. "Oooo, she speaks for herself, honestly.” The girl hissed and squinted her eyes a little, “I know you from somewhere, don't I?” Emily sighed as the girl snapped her fingers, “Emily! Emily Quartermaine! The rich Barbie doll! I remember you now. From the magazines." Emily now felt even more uncomfortable but faked a slight smile, “That's me.” She said glumly. The girl nodded, “Um… hmm. I remember." Emily scratched the back of her neck nervously before speaking quickly, “I really have to leave." After that Emily practically flew away. "It's ok! I'll catch up with you later!” The girl called out and then smiled to herself, “I'll definitely catch up with ya, Quartermaine.” She whispered to herself before walking away. Emily took off her blades before entering the mansion and going upstairs. She was a little puzzled from this afternoon. It had been hours since she had seen her. After bumping into her she waited until the sun went down to go home. And to her immense relief no one was home. That girl gave her the creeps. She looked about her age but she didn't seem like any teenager she knew. Emily carefully placed her roller blades in her closet and softly closed the door. She wrapped her arms around herself in thought, 'Who was she? What did she want? And why was she in Port Charles? 'Emily thought but forgot it all when she unintentionally gaze at a picture of Nikolas, Liz, and Lucky. Her arms feel to her sides as she closed her eyes picturing all the Katherine & Nikolas Kodak moments she had caught. Emily shook her head slightly thinking about how much every single girl but her seemed beautiful and utterly perfect than her. Even that dang girl in the park… Emily frowned, “I didn't even get her name.” She said to herself before jumping in fear at the tap on her bedroom window. She spun around and her eyes widened as she saw the girl from the park wave with a wide grin. Emily swallowed hard as she walked over to the window and lifted up the window, “What are you doing her?” "Hi ya, Tootse.” The girl smiled and entered the room with her backpack in hand. She got in and let her bag drop to the floor, “Don't look so surprised. I told you I'd catch up with ya." "How did you get in here?” "It was easy.” She answered, “I just jumped over the gates. Piece of cake.” She answered easily and gazed around at Emily's room with a nod, “Nice digs." Emily crossed her arms defensively, “Who are you?” She asked. The girl's eyes met hers again and her smile widened, “The rich kid wants to know my name?” Emily gave her a sarcastic look and she stuck out her hand, “Name's Katrina." Emily hesitated for a moment but eventually shook her hand, “Ok, Katrina, what do you want? Are you here for any particular reason? Why are you in Port Charles?” Katrina made an amused expression, “Look at Ms. Twenty Questions over here." Emily inhaled deeply, “Are you staying in Port Charles?” She questioned curiously. Katrina shrugged, “Haven't decided. I was going to just," She made a flowing like gesture with her hand while she revealed a few bracelets she was wearing making a jingle sound, “Pass through.” She smiled at Emily's specific attention to every move she made, “But then," Katrina paused and pointed to Emily, “I met you. And I knew there might possibly be a reason to stay." Emily's heart pounded so hard she thought it would break through her chest and expose itself, “Reason? What reason?” Katrina laughed slightly and sat on Emily's bed, “You." Emily couldn't take it anymore, “Who the hell are you and what do you want from me!?” Katrina stood swiftly, “I wanna help, Emily! That's all.” She took a few steps toward Katrina until she was standing in the center of her room. Emily's angered expression quickly turned into confusion, “Help?” "I could tell, Emily! Just by the way looked at me…" Katrina walked to Emily and began to circle her while Emily tried to keep calm, “You're sick of this.” Katrina whispered while behind Emily began to circle her another time, “This whole image that you're forced to live day in… day out.” Doesn't it get boring, Emily?” Katrina asked seeing Emily's expression show how much she was thinking, “You are sick of everyone giving you their two cents without even getting to you. You're sick of everyone having their own lives but you, right?” Katrina finally stopped standing proudly in front of Emily. Emily's eyes looked at her with amazement, “How did you know all that?” "Well, I've never been rich but I can definitely tell you I know where you’re coming from. I can help you, Emily. All you gotta do is ask.” Katrina told her with a self-assured look. Emily looked away from Katrina and took a few steps back, “This is way too weird for words.” Katrina chuckled to herself at Emily's statement, “What do you want from me?” Emily questioned looking back into Katrina's eyes, “What do you get out of this?” Katrina ran her hands through her hair, “Hmm… what do I want from you?” She placed her hand on her chin in thought, “There's two reasons I'll do this. One I'd think I could party with a chick like you, Ms. Quartermaine.” Katrina smiled wickedly and then added, “I mean I haven't been around someone with a good girl image in…" She trailed off before finishing, “God, I can't even remember. I want to have fun. It's been a long time since I just… let go. I think you and I would be trouble to all that is Port Charles.” She snickered, “Then there's always crashing in a place like this. I bet your maids even fluff the carpet or something, don't they?” Emily bit her lower lip lost in possibilities and Katrina she had Emily in the palm of her hand, “Emily, I'll leave if you want me to. Just say the word.” She sort of shrugged, “Then again… if you're sick of the goody two shoes act that you've got going… I can help you get rid of that real fast.” Emily's gaze drifted around her room and she paced the floor for a moment. Katrina waited for an answer in anticipation until Emily turned back to her with her own evil grin, “Ok, I'll take you up on the offer.” Emily pulled the barrettes out of her hair and giggled, “Make me over. Help me get rid of the image.” She told Katrina in extreme excitement. Katrina nodded, “My kind of girl.” She pointed to Emily's clothes, “First thing, get rid of that sweater. It gives me the creeps.” She instructed Emily with a shudder as she went to pick up her bag and began to explain to Emily the first thing on the agenda.
