Chapter 10: I don’t deserve you… Lucky continued to look at Liz questioningly. ‘Is she lying to me? To everyone?’ "Oh, L… Lucky." Liz stammered. "Elizabeth, what’s going on here?" Lucky stormed into the ICU. "Lucky, nothing, I’m really sick." Liz turned around. "You’re sick? Really." he crossed his arms and looked at Liz, who had her back turned. "Where are you going Elizabeth?" "No where!" Liz turned around and cried. "What? you want me to believe that you died!" Lucky became furious. Liz looked at him, she could tell he was hurt. "Lucky, I needed…" Liz paused. "What? Elizabeth what?!" Lucky shouted. Liz looked to the floor. ‘Why am I doing this?’ "Elizabeth, what about Sarah and Emily? You want them to think you died?" Lucky said quietly. "Lucky, I need to think on my own." Liz said softly. "Elizabeth, what about me? us?" Lucky asked. "Lucky, there is no us anymore!" Liz cried. It hurt her so much, she was married to a man she didn’t even love. "There can never be an ‘us’ again." Tears fell from her eyes. "There is to me!" Lucky cried. "Please, don’t run away from what we have." Lucky took her hand. "Lucky, I can’t its too hard!" Liz cried. "Why is it so hard? Can you tell me?" he asked, still holding her hand. "No, I can’t tell anyone." Liz took her hand away from Lucky’s grasp. "Not even you…" "Elizabeth, don’t you trust me?" "Lucky, I trust you, but I can’t go back to the way things were…I have to go away." "No, Elizabeth you are my life, I can’t go on without you!" Lucky grabbed Liz and took her into his arms. "Lucky, I love you so much…" Liz said softly, tears rolled down her cheeks. "Then don’t go." Lucky begged. "I love you.." "Lucky, I don’t deserve you…" Liz paused. "I have to leave…I don’t want to leave, but as much as it hurts me I have to!" "You’re married, aren’t you? That’s why you have to leave?" Lucky asked. Liz pulled away and looked at her hand and saw the ring. "Yes…I don’t love him… he thinks I’m dead." "What did you do that made him think that?" "I jumped off a cliff." Liz explained. "He loved me, but I never loved him…I was almost killed by him." "Why?" Lucky asked. "He wanted to kill me…all I thought about was leaving him and starting my life again." Liz laughed bitterly. "Was it Nikolas?" Lucky asked, beginning to become furious again. "It doesn’t matter…" Liz said softly. "Elizabeth, it does to me, I know about Nikolas’ ‘psycho’ stage." Lucky made a fist. "If that’s the reason you have to go back, because of Nikolas, I’ll make sure that he never hurts you again!" "Lucky, he’s not the same Nikolas Cassadine you were civil to in the past." Liz sighed. "He’s much more dangerous, and if it’s me he wants, I have to respect his wishes." "He’s not going to have you!" "He’ll hurt you, if he finds out that I’m alive!" Liz cried. "No, he’s not going to know that you’re alive, I promise." Lucky looked in her eyes. "Lets go." "What? where?" Liz asked, as Lucky took hold of her hand. "We’re getting you out of here, no one’s going to find out." Lucky smiled. "We have to tell Sarah and Emily though." Liz looked at Lucky and smiled. "All right, we can’t have anyone else know." Lucky nodded and led Liz out of the ICU, and out of the hospital. *+*+* "You witch! Stay away from my daughter!" Nikolas demanded. "I can’t stay away, you do remember our deal don’t you?" Helena asked. "Yes, I haven’t thrown you out yet." He stated. "Yes, and that’s why your Alexandria is alive and sleeping in her crib." She smiled. "I can’t have you taking care of her Helena." Nikolas said. "Master Nikolas, I’d be happy to take care of Alexandria." Hannah interrupted. Nikolas looked at Hannah and smiled. "Hmm, I guess…you did help me with Elizabeth when she was alive." He paused. "Okay." "Thank you Master!" Hannah cried with joy. She ran to Alexandria, leaving Helena and Nikolas alone. "Well, well." Helena smiled. "What?" Nikolas asked. "That young Hannah, you have feelings for her?" she asked. "What? For Hannah? She’s too much like a sister." Nikolas laughed. "Besides, if I’m going to get married, I’m not getting married to Hannah Thistovcky." "Fine, have it your way." Helena raised an eyebrow. "Nikolas, I remember that crush you had on that Emily Quartermaine." "I never had a crush on Emily, she was a friend." Nikolas said. "How come the Cassadines have a ‘thing’ for Webber women?" she asked. "You had Sarah Webber, then you had Elizabeth?" "I only went out with Sarah, so that I could get to know Elizabeth." Nikolas explained. "From the moment I saw her…" "Oh?" Helena smiled. "But, she didn’t return that gratitude to get to know you." "No, she didn’t, she loved Lucky." Nikolas lowered his head. "And always will." She laughed. "I know…even if she’s dead, she’s in Lucky’s heart not mine." Nikolas sighed sadly. "Every time I look at Alexandria, I see Elizabeth in her." "Webber women!" Helena shouted. "They’re all the same! They go for the Spencer men, but then run to the Cassadine clan." *+*+* Lucky and Liz got into Lucky’s car and sped off to Sarah’s house. Liz looked out the window and sighed. She wasn’t going to see her daughter ever again. Nikolas had won, and she wasn’t going to let him know that she was alive and in Port Charles. Even if it meant not ever seeing Alexandria grow up to be a fine young lady. She was going to move on. Suddenly, Liz felt the car coming to a stop. "Elizabeth, we’re here." Lucky said. "Oh?" Liz asked getting out of the car. She got out of the car and looked at a nice light blue house in front of her. Lucky came from the other side and looked at her. "This is your sister’s house." Lucky said. "Oh…" Liz sighed heavily. She missed her sister so much. She couldn’t wait to see how she was doing. "Are you okay?" Lucky asked. "Yeah." Liz gave a smiled. "Lets go." Lucky held out his hand. Liz looked at him and smiled. She placed her hand in his and walked over to the porch of the house. *+*+* "Luke, are you saying my son killed Elizabeth?" Laura asked, not believing a word her husband was saying. "Laura, he was jealous, so he went after her." Luke explained. "I can’t believe Nikolas would do such a thing." Laura sighed. "What could’ve gone wrong? Are you certain that Elizabeth is dead?" "Well, there…" Luke was interrupted. "Mom, no we aren’t certain…" Lulu sighed. "Nikolas found out that Liz could’ve survived the fall, he might try to look for her, or move on." "I hope he moves on and forgets about our family!" Luke snapped. "He is never going to set foot in this house ever again!" "But, he’s my son… What if he wants my help?" "Mom, trust me he won’t." Lulu said. "What do you mean?" Laura asked. "Nikolas, he’s changed." Lulu stated.
