Chapter-20-"Lizzie, The Dreamer" Kevin had been silent for a long time. The silence was thick in that room, until Jerry approached him. Jerry: Mate, I understand that you're upset- Kevin: *angrily* You have no idea. Jerry: But you have to put that aside now. Book a session with Gale later, we need you now. Kevin looked at Jerry in astonishment of his insensitivity. Victor: Monk, please- Kevin: Why didn't you tell me!? Victor: I didn't want to hurt you. Kevin shook his head, still unable to accept any of this, but at the same time he already had. Kevin: Was this… was this why… Victor knew what he was asking. Victor: Why Melanie went after Ryan instead of you? Kevin: Yes. Was it because she knew that he was her real son that she went after him? Victor: I can not explain Melanie's motives. Kevin: I think you know. Victor sighed. Victor: A mother always knows her child. He was the one she wanted the close, personal connection with because he was real to her. You were… Kevin: Nothing? Victor didn't respond. He didn't have to. Kevin: Why did you choose me then? Ryan was yours. Victor: You were mine every bit as much as Ryan was- Kevin: Victor, I want the truth, now. Jerry interjects. Jerry: We have no time for the truth. In case you haven't noticed, we are all very close to DYING. Kevin looked at Victor for a moment and then back to Jerry. Kevin: You're right. Kevin walked over to the platform. Kevin: Well, let's get this over with ~"~ Gina: No… Emily and Sarah tried to explain to her what the Keeper had told them. Gina: After all these years… Why would Dr. Burt not tell me what this really was? How could he not tell me this was a dream world? Emily: We don't know. All we know is what the Keeper told us. Gina: All these years… I thought I could trust him. Gina fell silent for a moment, thinking of the dead man she thought was her friend. Gina: I want to meet this Keeper. I want to know I can trust him. And I know Luke, Alexis, and V will want to meet him too. ~"~ Lizzie: Why do you keep looking at me? She waited in the garage for Alexis to come back. The Keeper kept giving her odd glances and she finally just became fed up with them. Keeper: Well, you intrigue me. You seem to be the only one who fits here? Lizzie: Fit here? What do you mean? Keeper: I can't explain it, but you are the same as when Dr. Burt first arrived here. Something about you… Lizzie: Like what? Keeper: It's like you're caught in someone else's dream. Lizzie: Meaning? Keeper: It's like you're actually asleep, your mind just wondered here… Lizzie: So you're saying I could actually be dreaming this? The Keeper snaps his fingers. Keeper: There it is again. You have some sort of understanding of this world, some sort of insight that the others lack. They're awake, that's why… but you… you could actually be asleep. Lizzie is totally confused. Lizzie: Okay, I get that I could be asleep, but does it really matter at all? Could I help us get out of here by being asleep? Keeper: Not really. Your subconscious and physical being may exist on the same plain, but it won't do any good in these confinements. Lizzie felt disappointed. She was really hoping she could somehow put an end to this. Not only to end it, but if she had the capability to do something, she would actually save the world. She had always been made to feel inferior to her sister. Something like preventing great destruction would definitely be an ego boost. ~"~ Nikolas was puzzled when Brenda kissed him. She pulled away and put an arm around him. Brenda: Are you feeling any better? Nikolas: Well, the faintness has come to an end, but I am still in deep confusion. Brenda: What is up with you? What happened to you back there? Nikolas: Last thing I remember… Well I can't remember the last thing I remember, I just know I don't belong here… This isn't my place in the universe. Brenda's face suddenly fell. Brenda: You… You’re not Nikolas. Not the one I know. Brenda took a second to let it sink in and ran to the front of the helicopter and shouted at the pilot, "Get us the hell to Port Charles, now!" Pilot: We're going as fast as we can. Brenda: Well, go faster! Pilot: We're almost there, don't worr- Suddenly, as the clouds parted, something so unusual appeared before them. It was something that did not seem to belong here. It was made up of several brilliant colors, except for a thread of completely empty darkness. It was so thin compared to the rest of it, but your eyes were just dragged right into it. Suddenly, the helicopter started to spiral out of control. Pilot: Oh no… Brenda: What?! Pilot: Prepare for a crash, we're going down!
