Chapter Nineteen Rick told Lizzie about what happened to Lucky and she hated Laura even more afterwards. She wanted to go see him but Lizzie had a promise to keep with her mother. She was going to help pack up Sarah’s things because Rick had asked Leslie to stay with them because of all the trouble Laura had caused. Lizzie was sitting in her sister’s room, slowly folding clothing, as her mind went back to different times she and her sister had shared. *~*~Flashback*~*~* “Lizzie, did you borrow my red silk shirt?” Sarah yelled as she stormed into Lizzie’s room. “No, I don’t like that shirt but I did wear the blue one and yes, I put it back where I got it nice and clean,” Lizzie said, not looking up from her home work. “I don’t believe you. I told you that I don’t want you to wear any of my things and you still take them. Lizzie, for the last time stay out of my room.” Sarah yelled and stormed out. ~*~*~end of flashback *~*~* Lizzie put the red shirt in a box and put it with the others to give to good will. Jennifer walked into the room and noticed that Lizzie hadn’t kept any clothing. “You don’t want to keep any of this?” Jennifer asked sitting down on the bed. “No, mom. I couldn’t wear any of it. I have been thinking about the times I used to wear her clothes and realized it was just to make her mad. I’m going to do what she always wanted and not wear them,” Lizzie said. “Oh, baby. Sarah loved you but sisters sometimes don’t show it as much. My sister Donna and I used to fight all the time and it drove my mother crazy. I was the smart one and she was the pretty one. She is now a top lawyer in the country and we both got accused of being twins. You two would have worked past the teen years and became friends. You are just not going to get the chance,” Jennifer said pulling her daughter close. “I know and that’s what hurts right now. I still don’t want her clothes but may be some of her other stuff,” Lizzie said. “Any thing you want. This way you can keep Sarah around you for a long time to come. I talked to Gail just a little while ago and she said we can join you in your next session,” Jennifer said. “Good. Come on, lets get back to work. Dad and Uncle Rick will be back with Leslie's things any time now and we are only half way done,” Lizzie said. “You just want to finish so you can go see Lucky,” Jennifer said with a smile. “That too.” Lizzie said blushing a little bit. “You really like him?” Jennifer asked. “Yes, Lucky is my best friend and I hope we become more than that,” Lizzie said. “Just do me a favor and use your head,” Jennifer told her and they went back to work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Luke hadn’t slept all night and he was running on empty. Lucky was resting and Rick had stopped by before helping Leslie move into the Hardy house to check up on him. He said Lucky was doing fine and he predicted no other problems, if they could keep Laura at bay. He was getting a cup of coffee when Scott Baldwin walked into the room. “What do you want?” Luke asked, as he glared at the lawyer. “I want to talk to Lucky, if you don’t mind,” Scotty said and headed toward Lucky’s room. “No, you don’t. I say who talks to my son and when. You're not going to see him,” Luke said, pulling him back and shoving him out in the hall. “I have a court order. You can’t stop me,” Scotty said, holding up the paper for Luke to read. “You don’t get it, Baldwin. Lucky can’t talk to you. He just got out of surgery to repair the damage your client caused when she told him about the death of those kids. So, I don’t give a damn what your little paper says. Lucky isn’t talking to you or anyone about that women. Now, get lost before you regret what I’m about to do to you,” Luke said and took a step forward. Scotty backed up and decided to try another approach. He also didn’t want to take the chance that Luke wasn’t lying. He decided to check around and see what was going on before making his next move. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mac sat at his desk, going over the lab work on the van, limo, and Nikolas' car when V walked into the room. She walked up to Mac desk and said, “Ah, Mac. I have a problem.” “What’s wrong, V?” Mac asked looking up from the file. “I went to the place where Lucky Spencer rented the van and I talked to people to see if they knew anything. I took a sketch artist along, just in case they could remember anyone and they came up with this,” V said placing the picture on the desk. “Are you sure?” Mac asked, very surprised to discover whose face looked up at him from the desk. “Yes, what do we do?” V asked him. “I want to keep this under wraps and make sure we put a guard on Lucky at all times. I don’t care what Luke will or will not allow. That boy’s life is in danger and I’m not letting one more person die because of this Spencer/Cassadine war. Also, V here is a list of items that the lab found that was used to make the bomb. Ask around and see if this person bought any of these items. I want real proof before making an arrest,” Mac said and V left the room to carry out his orders. Mac slowly looked over the picture one more time. “What if this was some kind of trick? What would they do then?” Mac asked himself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scotty spent most of the day asking around the hospital and found out Luke wasn’t lying and he needed a little help. He called the judge that signed the court order and explained the problem and what he wanted to do. The judge agreed and said the new order would be ready by the end of the day. Scotty wasn’t in too much of a hurry because Lucky wouldn’t be able to have visitors for a few more days. Scotty then went to talk to Gail for help. He found Gail at her desk, going over some paper work. Scotty sat down and asked, “Gail, I have a favor to ask. Laura told me that she is talking to you now and I need you to take the stand in her favor. I also want to talk to Lucky Spencer and evaluate him,” Scotty said. “She is going through with it?” Gail asked. “Yes and I have to fight Luke Spencer and Sonny’s lawyer. I know they will do anything to make sure Laura loses her children. I can’t let happen,” Scotty said. “I’ll talk to Lucky but my decision will be based on what is best for Lucky not what you and Laura want it to be,” Gail said. “I might not use your findings, so I’ll agree,” Scotty said, “I have no choice. What I found out about the consequences of Laura telling Lucky about his friend's deaths made this case much harder to win.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lizzie had finally got a chance to see Lucky and was walking past Johnny when he stopped her. “You're not going in there,” he said with a serious look on his face. “I’m not? What’s going on?” Lizzie demanded, wondering if there was something wrong with Lucky. “You can’t go in without saying hi to me,” Johnny said as a wide smile came across his face. “You scared me,” Lizzie said slapping him hard on the arm. “Hey, you know what happens to people that hit me?” Johnny asked. “I don’t care. You don’t scare me. I know the real you and Hi. How’s the head?” she asked. “I have a hard head. I’m fine. I think you will find the kid awake,” Johnny said and let her pass. Lizzie smiled at him warmly and walked into the room. Bobbie was at the desk and Luke was fast asleep on the couch. Bobbie smiled and put her finger to her lips. Lizzie smiled and nodded at Bobbie, as she walked into Lucky’s room. Lucky's eyes were closed but he opened them up when he heard someone walk into the room. “Hi,” he said weakly. “Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner. I had something to do at home,” Lizzie said. “No problem. I wouldn’t have know you were here,” Lucky said, his voice really weak. Lizzie sat down and brushed a hand over his face. “You rest and I’ll sit here and watch,” Lizzie said to him. Lucky smiled at her and closed his eyes again. He slowly fell asleep and Lizzie just sat beside him thinking about all the stuff they had been through over the past few months since they had known each other. She hoped they would have some fun soon.
