Chapter Eleven Nikolas and Lizzie walked into the safe house where Lucky and Will were staying. They were surprised at Lucky's appearance. Lucky had the same looks but the fight was gone from him and his blue eyes were dull and lifeless. Lizzie ran to Lucky and wrapped her arms around him. Lucky held her but he didn't stay in her embrace long. “Hi. I missed you,” Lucky said trying to sound cheerful. “I missed you too. I was worried sick when you didn't come back and stopped by your house. Your mother said you were with your father and you were working everything out…” Lizzie said but stopped short and started to cry. “Lizzie stop. I am all right. You couldn't have done anything if you did know,” Lucky said. “Lucky it isn't all right. He beat you and tried to destroy you. You have every right to be mad and angry. Where is the Lucky Spencer that spent all those nights on my floor because I needed a friend?” Lizzie cried out. “He's gone,” Lucky said and his self control crumbled. Lucky fell to his knees and cried. The pain of the past few months came out of him in a rush. Lizzie held him close and comforted him. She didn't know what to say but words were worthless. Lizzie's love meant more to Lucky than anything. Nikolas watched the two of them and his heart broke for his brother. He wanted to kill Luke's father for this and he even thought of few ways to do it. He walked up to Lucky and helped him to his feet. Nikolas looked Lucky right into the eyes and said, “I promise you. If Luke does end up in jail by some chance, you're not going back to that man. I will use every thing in my power to stop it. You have my word on it,” Nikolas said. “Thanks, Nikky. I hope that doesn't happen. Dad didn't do this, my grandfather did. He is the one that should on trial. He grabbed me off the streets and held me captive. I tried to get away but I couldn't,” Lucky said and tears started to fall again. Nikolas stood there awkwardly and then pulled him close and held him. Laura watched the two of them and cried herself. Her son's were together and not fighting. Why did it take something like this to make that happen? She wondered. Sonny watched and started to make plans on the destruction of Lorenzo Spencer. Some way that man was going to die and fast. Sonny wasn't going to let him anywhere near those two boys. They have been through enough. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Alexis spent the next few weeks trying to put together a defense that made sense. She had one problem the Spencers weren't telling much about what really happen. The two things she didn't know were Luke's past and why Lucky was living on the streets in the first place. She couldn't get any of them to talk. She was hoping it wasn't as bad as she thought. The trial started and everyone was there. Luke's friends and family were showing support but the press smelled a story. They packed the courtroom as well. The headlines read (EX-MAYOR OF PORT CHARLES STANDS TRIAL FOR CHILD ABUSE) Alexis walked into the courtroom and found the DA David Smith was trying this case himself. Dara sat by Justice and she didn't look happy. The DA gave her a choice try this case or else. She took the or else. She couldn't take a case that she didn't believe in.
