Chapter 50: Helena's Fall Helena lay, bleeding on the ground. She put her hand on her bullet wound and looked around the living room and damned herself for not putting a phone in there. There was no way she could pull herself across the floor and find somebody to help her. She thought about the night and how she ended up like this. First, Quinn and Christen arrived... then others came and it all went to hell. Everything she did, all her plans were in ruins. Here she was, bleeding to death. Helena saw a knocked over picture of her and Mikkos… a very old one. She took it in her hand and dragged it over to her. Helena: Well, Mikkos… looks like we are going to be together again. Pity. Helena grew weaker… she felt like she was drowning, she felt the pain numbing… she felt sleepy. Helena raised her chin as high as she could. She straitened her tangled body up and tried to make it look as dignified as she could. Death would take her, but she would not look like a victim. Helena's life flashed before her eyes… her birth… her childhood in Greece… there was a boy she had grown rather fond of in her teen years, when she expressed herself, he laughed in her face… her best friend's loss of life to an illness… meeting the Cassadine family… meeting Quinn, a man who she learned to spite… her father screaming at her when she said she did not want to marry Mikkos… the wedding day… the honeymoon, making love while having cold shivers run down her spine… the evening she found out she was pregnant… giving birth to Stavros… holding him in her arms as a baby… her heart turning cold the longer she was married to Mikkos… giving birth to Stefan… having an affair with a man, his name was Roland… she lusted him, maybe almost loved him… months after they started their affair, she sneaked into his bed to find that he was dead… Mikkos was in the room and started to scream at her for being a whore… contacting Quinn to find out if Mikkos had a mistress… Quinn told her no, but she didn't trust him… she found out about Christen and her unborn child… having that man kill her and the bastard… taunting Mikkos about the deaths of his mistress and baby… finding out Quinn betrayed the family and kept Christen alive… threatening Christen to leave or she and her daughters would be dead… tampering with Quinn's memory… the Ice Princess affair… having a miscarriage conceived a little before Mikkos' death… Nikolas' birth and the new hope she had… wanting to have a firm grasp on the family and everything that happens… Stavros' death… the months she stayed in bed and ate very little… regaining her strength and putting new plans into motion to have the entire family running through her loops… her plans to get revenge on the Spencers right after she had Stefan right where she wanted him… the last couple of hours… and now darkness. Helena's lifeless body lies on the ground in the silent study of her mansion.
