Chapter 47: A Dark Day Jason snuck into Carly's room and saw that she was starting to regain consciousness. The doctor told them Carly's health was starting to improve amazingly and that she would soon regain consciousness, but advised everyone to stay out. He knew Bobbie and Virginia wanted to go in, but obeyed orders anyway. Carly opened her eyes and could see someone was in her room. It took her a second to realize that it was Jason. Carly: Jason, what's going on… Carly feels something is different. Something is totally wrong. Then she feels her stomach. Carly: Oh my God, the baby! Where's my baby? Jason: Easy, Carly. You can't stress yourself out, that's what got you here in the first place. Carly: What happened? Jason: You were arguing with Dr. Jones a couple of weeks ago when you collapsed. You had to have a C-section to have the baby removed. He's alive, but is still not feeling well. Carly: Oh my God, what have I done to my baby? Jason: It wasn't your fault. Carly: Just please tell me he's going to be all right. Jason: I can't Carly. I can't. Carly put her head in her hands and started crying. She couldn't stand it, this could not be happening! Jason: Carly, there's something else. Carly looked up at Jason through her watery eyes. Jason sat next to her and took her hand. Carly: Something else? What else could there be? Jason: Bobbie knows the truth. She knows that you are her daughter, Caroline Benson. Carly: What? How? No, wait. It was that little twerp Henry Corinthos, wasn't it? Jason: I'm not sure how it all came out. Apparently Henry called Virginia and told her you were here, but Stefan Cassadine told Bobbie. Carly: Stefan Cassadine? How would he know? Jason: He must have investigated her past when he was married her. Carly: Jason, what am I going to do? Carly held to Jason and started sobbing again. Jason: Carly, I have to go. I'm not even supposed to be here, I just wanted to warn you. Carly: Thank you Jason… Could you do me a favor? Jason: Sure, what is it? Carly: Could you see the baby and tell me how he's doing? Jason: Okay, sure. Jason left the room and Carly turned on her side. Carly could not believe it. Her entire life had fallen apart and she had only been awake for five minutes. She started going through everything in her head. What was she going to tell her mother? What would she say to Bobbie? What would happen to her son, if Tony didn't have a case to take her child away before he definitely would now. Carly touched her stomach and felt the emptiness. Whatever means necessary, she would have her son. ~^~ Bobbie continued to walk down the hospital hall and then turned. There she saw Stefan Cassadine. Bobbie: Stefan. Stefan: Hello, Barbara. How is Caroline's condition? Bobbie: She's… she's improving. Stefan: And the child? Bobbie: Dr. Newman doesn't think the baby will have much of a chance to live. She said the same thing about Carly a few hours ago but Carly's definitely going to be better. Stefan: I hope everything works out for the best. Bobbie: Thank you. Although, it might have worked out better if you would have told me the truth a lot sooner. Stefan: Barbara, I am sorry about not telling you the truth sooner. As soon as I found out you might lose your daughter, I realized I was doing the wrong thing by keeping this secret from you. Bobbie: So you tell me at the last possible second… And you decided you loved me. Where is Katherine, by the way? I'm not sure she would like to hear that bit of information. Stefan: I have not seen Katherine for awhile. Come to think of it, we were supposed to meet on New Year's Eve at the Outback, but she never arrived. I left a message for her, but have heard nothing since. Bobbie: You mean, Katherine has completely disappeared and you haven't noticed until now? Stefan: I've been so preoccupied with my situation with you, Natasha and Henry I guess I have not had a moment to even think about Katherine. Bobbie: Henry? Corinthos, Henry? The kid who called Virginia here. What situation could you possibly have with him? Stefan: Well, Barbara, it has recently been brought to my attention that he is my son. Bobbie: What?! Stefan: You heard me, Henry Corinthos is my son. ~^~ Kelly's was pretty empty that day. Just a person here and there, nothing exciting except for one in particular conversation at on table. Lizzie was sitting across from Nikolas and could not believe what she was hearing. Lizzie: Henry is your cousin! Nikolas: My uncle told me a few days ago. Believe me, I was as shocked as you. Lizzie: And that bitch grandmother of yours kidnapped him! Why isn't anyone doing anything about it? Nikolas: My uncle has people looking for Helena and Sonny Corinthos is also working on it. Lizzie: I don't believe this. Why are you telling me this? Nikolas: Henry was your friend, I thought you would like to know. Lizzie: Thanks for telling me. God, I just can't believe it. Henry, a Cassadine. Lizzie looked at all the envelopes Nikolas had in his hand, which was resting on the table. Lizzie: What's with the mail? Nikolas: Oh, I was in a rush this morning and didn't have time to read my mail so I just brought it with. I was just starting to go over it before we talked. Lizzie: Do you think Helena might try to contact you? Nikolas: Sorry, Lizzie, but I have nothing from Helena. Nikolas started flipping through his mail when one letter in particular stood out. Lizzie: What is it? Nikolas: It's a letter from Katherine. She's been missing for days. Nikolas opened the envelope and started reading the letter. Nikolas: "Dear Nikolas, This is a good bye letter. I am sending one message to everyone who cares about me. I sent one to you, your Uncle, and Robin…" Lizzie: Short list. Nikolas: "You may not see me again for a long time. I have met a man who has saved my life. We've fallen madly in love and got married and live in a cabin in the middle of no where. The only important part of this letter is that I am never going to be in Port Charles again. Please help your uncle to move on and find someone else he loves. I don't care who it is… if she's just some nurse or if she's just some red head. Help him to move on. Katherine." Lizzie: Well at least someone's happy, but it would be nice if it was someone I could care if they were happy. Nikolas: Me too. Lizzie: I thought Katherine was your friend. Nikolas: I thought that if she ever disappeared I'd hate it, but I think I'll be all right. I'm over it already. Lizzie: That's good. They sat that way and started talking about other stuff, but Lizzie always kept worrying about Henry. ~^~ Stefan entered his office and saw a pile of mail on his desk. He picked up the first letter and saw it was from Katherine. He opened it and read it. He smiled when he finished. This was great. Now he wouldn't have to worry about a long, tedious, dragged out break up with Katherine. Now he could concentrate on getting Bobbie back, helping Alexis and Miranda, getting rid of mother dearest and saving his son and not feel guilty about not thinking of Katherine. Stefan started to wonder if he should frame it but thought, "No, thought would be in bad taste." He was glad that something was working out right for once. ~^~ Bobbie was walking down the hall and saw Tony was sitting with his head in his hands. He was crying. Bobbie went to him. Bobbie: Tony, what happened? Is something wrong? Tony looked up at her and Bobbie felt a surge of fear flow through her. Something terrible had happened. ~^~ Carly shot her head up as soon as she heard the door open. It was Jason and he looked almost sad. Carly: Jason, what it is? Jason: Carly… I have to tell you something about you son. Carly: No… no, please tell me he's okay. Jason: I can't Carly. He's dead. He died ten minutes ago. Carly: No… Carly started to cry. Jason walked up to her and hugged her. Carly: No… No, Dammit, NO! It's not fair! This isn't fair… She couldn't say anything else, she felt as if someone one was choking her. Tears continuously streamed down her face. Her sobs could be heard down the hall. Carly: My baby's dead… Jason patted her on the head and tried to calm her down, but it was no use. All he could do was hold Carly tighter.
