Chapter 45: Matters of Life and Death Sonny was with his fiancé Brenda lying in bed. The phone started ringing in and Brenda was about to pick it up when Sonny stopped her. Sonny: Just let the machine get it. Brenda: It might be urgent. Sonny: It could be, but… Brenda: I'll get rid of them right away. Brenda picked up the phone by their bed. Brenda: Hello?… Sally?… Slow down, what's wrong… Oh my God, when? Sonny: What happened? Brenda looked to Sonny and frowned. Brenda: Don't worry, Sonny and I will be right there… I'm sorry Sally, bye. Brenda hung up. Sonny: What was all that about? Brenda: Sonny, Henry was kidnapped a few hours ago. Sonny: He was what? By who? Brenda: She says she knows but she can't go to the police. She needs to see you right away. ~^~ Sally hung up the phone and looked at Stefan. He was still in disbelief of what was happening. A few hours ago he had learned that he had a son and now he had completely disappeared. Stefan: Is the Webber girl all right? Sally: Yes, poor thing. Are you sure it was Helena? Stefan: Positive that it was that bitter old woman who took our son. Sally: I just pray that he's okay. I will kill her if she lays one hand on my son. Stefan: Do not worry, I will make sure Henry makes it through this unharmed. I have already started to get people to investigate this. At least we will get a head start considering Helena does not know that I am already aware that Henry is my son. Sally: How can you be sure? Stefan: I can not be completely sure but I am positive that she does not know yet. Hopefully your nephew will be cooperative in helping to find Henry. Sally: I'm sure Sonny will do what he can. Stefan: Good, the more resources the better chances we have of getting Henry back. ~^~ Lizzie was sitting on her bed holding the pair of earrings Henry had gotten her for Christmas. Her head was still pounding from when she was knocked out earlier but it was a little better since she took the aspirin earlier. She examined the small earrings, which had a sort of glamorous touch. ~-~-~-~ Lizzie and Henry were in Kelly's, Henry holding the box in front of her. Lizzie: If you got Sonny a key chain I can only imagine what you got me. Lizzie took it. Henry: Well go ahead, open it. Lizzie did as he requested and saw a pair of earrings. Lizzie: Earrings? Henry: Well I didn't exactly know what was appropriate so I just got these anyway. Lizzie: They’re nice, but I don't know if I can except them. Henry: Relax, they didn't cost me all that much anyway. Lizzie: Well… I'm sorry, I didn't get you anything. Henry: Don't worry about it. You just owe me one. Lizzie laughed. Lizzie: Well thank you. Henry: Your welcome. ~-~-~-~ Lizzie started to cry as she held the earrings in her hand. Henry was one of the most important people in her life. She couldn't lose him… ~-~-~-~ Henry Corinthos walked into Kelly's and went up to the counter. Lizzie was at the counter. Lizzie: Is there anything I can get for you? Henry: Do you know who I could talk to here about getting a job? Lizzie: Wait here, I'll get the old crone. Lizzie walked in back and then Ruby came out. ~^~ Lizzie popped out of the kitchen, looking a little annoyed. So she broke a couple of dishes, it was no reason to bite her head off. She looked to Henry at the counter. Lizzie: You get the job? Henry: Yes, I'm starting tomorrow. Lizzie: Oh, how nice. Henry: What's your name? Lizzie: Why? Henry: Well, if we're gonna be working together… Lizzie: Lizzie Hardy. Henry: Henry Corinthos. ~-~-~-~ Henry and Lizzie were hanging out in the kitchen at Kelly's talking. Henry had almost gotten spotted by his mother who he was hiding from at the time. The conversation had taken a rather personal turn. Henry: My mom ran away when she was 16 and lost track of whoever was in her family and my father, whoever he is, is happily married to his wife of at least 18 years. Is that enough information for you? Lizzie: Sorry. Henry: Don't be… I hardly think about it. Lizzie: Have you ever tried to find your father? Henry: One time, I was interested in knowing, but my mom told me that if I still wanted to find him when I was old enough to move out, then I could find him, but as long as I'm not, then I wasn't going to find out. She's always been completely honest with me, but it does get a little depressing knowing what you probably don't want to know. Lizzie: Like what? Henry: Well, it wasn't exactly easy on me knowing that I came from a fling between an insecure woman and some married guy. She's a lot more secure now… she had a big fight with my dad and that's why she never tells me anything about him. Again with the too much honesty. They were both silent for awhile. Lizzie: Is that why you run away? Henry: Huh? Lizzie: Your father? She said when you were old enough to be on your own you could find out yourself. Henry: Could be… it'll take years of therapy though to figure out for sure… Wow, this is strange. Lizzie: What? Henry: I just feel like I can say anything to you. Lizzie: Yeah, I kind of feel that way too. ~-~-~-~ Lizzie heard a knocking at the door. Lizzie: What is it? She could tell Emily was on the other side. Emily: I heard about what happened and your Grandma let me in. Could I come in? Lizzie opened the door. Emily: I'm so sorry. Lizzie and Emily hugged. Lizzie: Oh, Emily… he was my best friend, I don't know what I'll do if anything happens to him. ~^~ Virginia, Jason, AJ and Bobbie were all sitting in the waiting area. Tony was with his son, Anthony. They were all silent, waiting to hear something… anything… about Caroline. Then Dr. Newman came out. Bobbie stood up. Bobbie: Doctor, how is she? Dr. Newman: I'm afraid it's not looking very good. Virginia: No! She has to be all right, my Sweet Caroline can't die. Dr. Newman: I'm sorry, but there is nothing else we can do. We can keep giving her the drug but the chances for survival are slim. Tony walked up and saw all their grim faces. Tony: What's going on? How is… AJ got up and lunged at him. AJ: If she dies it'll be your fault! AJ pushed Tony against the wall. Jason goes up to him. Jason: AJ, let him go. This won't help Carly now. AJ backed off from Tony but didn't leave without saying one more thing. AJ: I swear, you will pay if she doesn't make it. You will pay. AJ walks away leaving everyone else stunned. Tony: I take it the news isn't very good. Bobbie: Tony, Car… Caroline may not make it. Bobbie felt her entire world was messed up. This was her daughter who for months she thought of as scum who was now fighting for her life. How was it all going to be if Caroline got out? She just prayed her daughter would make it, if she died then Bobbie would never resolve this. She would never get to know her daughter and her grandson would never get to know his mother. ~^~ The two guys were up in front of the van playing the radio loud. They wanted it to drown the whiney boy's constant yapping. The guy on the left couldn't wait to get to Helena's and dump this brat off with her. Left Guy: This station sucks, change it. Right Guy: Hmm… Which one? (Looks over seat to Henry) How 'bout it kid, any request… Oh Shit! Left Guy: What is it? Right Guy: Pull over, now! The right guy pulled over and looked in the back of the van. Henry was having a seizure. Right Guy: What should we do? Left Guy: Well he's no good to Helena dead! The left guy started to take off. Right Guy: Where are you going? Left Guy: Where do you think dumb ass? THE HOSPITAL!
