Chapter 27: The Uninvited Guest

Emily, who was dressed as the bride of Frankenstein, greeted Lucky at the door.  
Lucky chuckled when he saw her costume.

Lucky: Nice costume Em.

Emily: Thank you, Count.

Lucky laughed a little as Lizzie came up behind him.

Lizzie: Hey, Emily.

Emily: Hey, nice costume.

Lucky looked at her and couldn't tell who she was, since her face was covered by 
one of those Scream masks. Henry, dressed in a black suit with Ray Ban 
sunglasses, came up behind her

Henry: Hey Liz.  Emily, great costume.

Lizzie: And what are you supposed to be?

Henry: Man in Black, duh.

Lizzie: Aw…

They all walked into the living room.  When they walked in, "They're Coming To 
Take Me Away, HA HA" had ended and another song was beginning.

Lucky: Bride of Frankenstein, may I have this dance?

Emily: *giggling* Sure, I'd love to.

Lucky and Emily started dancing, the room cleared of all breakables and 
furniture, to Monster Mash.

Miranda stood by the hors d’ oeuvres table, rather bored while Quinn made 
conversation with some old people and Stefan and Katherine mingled.  Nikolas was 
not there, instead he was having dinner with Sarah at some restaurant and she 
was glad.  She wasn't particularly interested in being a Sarah fan. Katherine 
walked to Miranda.

Miranda: Hey.

Katherine: Hello… I don't know what to call you.

Miranda: I guess Natasha.

Katherine: Okay… How did things go with Jax?  You never told me when you stopped 
by.

Miranda: I would rather not talk about it.

Katherine: He didn't take it too well, I presume.

Miranda: No, he didn't.

Katherine: You know, he may be mad at you right now, but there's no reason that 
you two couldn't get together in the future.

Miranda: Of course there is.  He doesn't love me.  I can understand that and 
it's time for me to move on.

Katherine: Are you sure it's wise to give up so easily?

Miranda: Katherine, I already fought and I lost.  It would only make me pathetic 
to go on.

Katherine: I might have looked pathetic, but I waited for Stefan.  Now I have 
his love and devotion.  What does that tell you?

Miranda: You may have gotten Stefan, and I'm happy for you.  But I'm not going 
to bother with Jax anymore.

Stefan was alone drinking some wine.  Katherine had disappeared from him.  He 
had the strangest feeling that was being watched.  He looked around the room and 
noticed a woman watching him from the second floor.  He almost fainted when he 
realized that the woman was Helena. He put his glass down and pushed his way to 
the stairs.  He saw his mother running away as he ran up the steps.

Quinn noticed Helena and then Stefan chasing after her.  Quinn was at first 
going to help him, but then realized it might be best to get Miranda out of 
there.

Stefan got to the second floor but his mother was out of sight.  He had to find 
her.

Venus watched as Jax and Denise were dancing.  They were having a lovely time 
and she was happy about that.

Jerry: Looks like they're having a good time.

V: *looks to Jerry* They look like they are.

Jerry: Are you bored?

V: Oh no, no, I'm having a wonderful time.

Jerry: Oh, well I was just wondering, in case you wanted to go to some other 
place.

V: Like where?

Jerry: Well, the Outback.

V: *laughs* The Outback?

Jerry: Well, I'd kinda like to go to a place a little less formal.   It's just 
plain dull here.

V: Well, okay, if you want to go to some other place.

Jerry: Great.

Jerry and V left.

Miranda stood quietly in the corner of the room, still bored to death, when 
Quinn walked right to her.  She could tell that something was wrong by the look 
on his face.

Quinn: Natasha.

Miranda: Quinn, what is it?

Quinn: We have to get out of here.  Helena's here.
